Do you ever find yourself stuck in a rut with work? Probably in more ways than one. Ruts are a part of life, so from time to time it’s important we make a conscious effort to pull ourselves out of them. Here at HairWorldMag, we challenge you to get out of your hair rut and try these 5 hairstyle Ideas at work this week. You might be surprised how much of a difference a hairstyle can make and wouldn’t it be great to have a different hairstyle for each working day of the week.
1. Half-Up Half-Down Hairstyle with Barrette
Do you have a barrette that has been sitting in your box of hair accessories or jewellery box that you just haven’t touched? Perhaps it’s even a family heirloom. Dust that bold barrette off and wear it to work this week. A half-up half-down hairstyle with volume around the crown and pinned with a barrette is the perfectly subtle hairstyle to wow your colleagues. This look works with wavy, curly or straight hair and both short and long.
2. Deep Side Ponytail with Metal Accessory
You can’t go wrong with wearing a ponytail to work – or anywhere. But you can spice it up by creating a dramatically deep side part. If you have side-swept bangs, try to clip them back with the rest of your hair so it doesn’t just look like side-swept bangs but rather the dramatic deep side-part hairstyle. If your hair isn’t long enough to make a ponytail with, simply create the side part and let the rest of your hair hang down. It will be just as bold and chic. Add a metal hair accessory to really stand out from the crowd this week.
3. Messy Updo with Headband
Polished and sleek hair has its time and place but that doesn’t necessarily mean the work place. You’re at work day in and day out, and it’s okay to be yourself and sometimes yourself means a not-so-neat updo that you threw up while rushing around the house. A slightly unkempt hairstyle can be made chic by simply adding a headband. Regardless if it’s a fine or thick headband, white or black, as long as it matches the rest of your outfit, let your natural hair texture shine through and add a headband for an easy but stylish work hairstyle.
4. Top Knot with Bold Accessory
It’s okay to throw your hair up in a topknot for work. It keeps your hair off your face, pulled back and looking polished throughout the day. It’s every thing you could want in a hairstyle. Unfortunately, it can be a little boring. This week, take this basic hairstyle and make it extraordinary by adding a bold hair accessory. This could be a hair wrap, bows, jewels or a peacock ponytail holder. Whatever you choose, just rock it.
5. The Fishtail Braid
The Fishtail Braid has been making waves for some time now so rather you’ve perfected the unique braid style or you have yet to try it – this week, put it in your hairstyle rotation. If you haven’t done it before then you might want to spend some evening practicing it so you don’t have to worry about it in the morning. We’re going to provide you with several fishtail inspirations but make this look your own. Don’t hesitate to make it a crown braid, add accessories, etc. If you have short hair, add the fishtail braid at the top of your hair and pull it back.
