If you need an updo hairstyle for an event, work or just to change up your look then grab some hairspray and bobby pins and try one of these options.
Low Neck Bun
Whether you are looking for a sleek look and a tousled hairstyle, a low-neck bun is the perfect option and it’s very simple. Comb back all of your hair like you would for a ponytail and then tie it into a bun. If you want a messy look then leave the tips hang of the bun but if you want it sleek then grab some hair gel and make it as tight as possible.
A Twisted Bun for Short Hair
This is a great hairstyle for those summer weddings and picnics or even for a work event. Simply comb your hair and gather it in the back. Then twist the hair upward from the bottom and roll it until the middle of your head. Pin the twisted section of the hair tightly. You can add extra support with a cute hair clip.
A Side Twist
By simply creating twist on both sides your hair and pinning where the hair meets in the back you can create the illusion of an intricate updo. The trick to making this hairstyle work is strategic bobby pinning and lots of hairspray. You can also use a headband that is the same color of your hair to wrap the hair around for additional support.
Half-Up Half Down
By gathering the top layers of your hair and brushing them back to create plenty of volume and pinning the top layers in the back you can create a gorgeous but simple half up hairstyle. Slick down the sides and pin them under the upper layers for a tremendously chic look.
Curled Side Bun
If you need an updo for an event such as a wedding or prom then you will probably seek those lovely and elegant curls. Combine curls and an updo with a side-swept bun. The trick is to pin rather than tie the bun. After you’ve curled all your hair, pull your hair back to one side and roll then pin the curls. If you have bangs of layers leave a few strands out to frame your face.
