Whether you’re the type of girl that pulls her hair up unto a top knot because you’re always running late or you’re the type of girl that opts for au-natural texture or even if you’re the girl that spends 45 minutes with hot curlers in her hair every day, we all get stuck in ruts. The same style, day in and day out is mundane and it’s also potentially damaging for our tresses!
So here are some simple ways to change up your hairstyle for each hair type!
Hair Type: Wavy and Coarse
Do you straighten and blow dry your curly, coarse hair every day? It’s a relatable struggle. Curls seem to look great on everyone but when it comes to your own head of unruly curls, you can’t seem to make them work. Try some loose curls that manage your unruly hair. Use a curling iron to curl most of your locks and spray them with a lighthold hairspray. Finally, run your fingers through your hair to break up the tight curls and there ya have it – a gorgeous wavy hair texture that won’t leave you missing your flatiron.
Hair Type: Thick and Curly
Are you guilty of wearing your thick curls in a topknot every day? We understand. It’s much easier than taming those wild curls! But, you can keep them tame and switch up your look with a French braid. Grab a section of your hair at your crown and then simply French braid. This way, the braid stays tight and close to your head. Tuck the braid up for an awesome textured look.
Hair type: Fine and Mid-length
If you have fine mid-length hair, you probably wash it, maybe blow dry it for a few minutes and let it lay. It doesn’t put up much of a fuss and you don’t worry about too much. But your manageable hair might not hold curls but it is relatively easy to style. Why not pull it up into a ponytail? You’re probably thinking “I pull it back all the time!” but pull it back with extra volume at the top by teasing your tresses and show that your fine hair can have life too! Complete the look with a hair wrapped ponytail.
Hair type: Short Textured Pixie
The pixie is often styled with some loose texture. It softens the haircut and really frames any face shape. But even this edgy look needs a change up every once in a while. Try grabbing some hair gel and creating a slick and sleek hairstyle. Part all your hair to one side and if your hair is long enough, tuck it behind your hair.
Regardless of your every day hairstyle, it feels good to break the mold and try something different some times! If you wear your hair in a ponytail every day, let it down – if you wear it curls every day, change up the texture and if it’s a mid-length every-days-straight-and-down, then add some texture. Don’t hide your curls and don’t accept your fate if your hair is fine and straight. Play with it – try something new!
