Another year has come and gone. Hopefully 2014 was every thing you hoped it would be and the best yet to come in 2015. The New Year often feels like a blank slate and an opportunity to change up the mundane or try new things – such as new hairstyles. With each year, the fashion elite and trend setters debut the latest styles on the runway, which quickly gets picked up by the street style fashionistas. So we’ve decided to round up the hottest long hair trends that you should try in 2015.
Coming Un-done Hairstyles
Your lazy day loose and disheveled ponytails are now chicer than ever. Designers like Michael Kors debuted this coming un-done hairstyle in their shows and we love the look. Designer Veronica Beard said that she wanted her ladies hair to look almost amateur but as beautiful as possible – like they had done their hair themselves. From loose side braids with lots of loose strands to a half-pulled through ponytail, un-done is chic!
Re-Done Braids for Long Hair
If you haven’t mastered the fishtail braid yet, there is still time to practice. Braids aren’t going anywhere but they are being remastered. Rather than simple 3-strand braids, the fashion forward are taking bold steps with their braids by making intricate updo’s, or redesigning basic braids with sleek twists. If you’ve been trying new braided hairstyles, now is the time to debut them. If you haven’t, it’s a good time to start practicing.
Air Dried Textures
Tired of constantly blow-drying your hair? 2015 is the year that you should embrace your natural hairs texture, or perhaps play with it a little bit to make it look like it naturally dries with flowing beach waves. You could apply some mousse, wrap up 2-3 braids and let it air dry (or use a blow dryer to speed up the process). This tousled look is perfect for the un-done trend too.
Deep Side-Swept Side-Part
A simple way to get change up your hairstyle is to create a deep side-part and pin your hair on the other side with a bobby pin either above or underneath your hair on that side. This dramatic side-swept part is an easy hairstyle that will take you from the office to the party. You might love your new part so much that it becomes a permanent hairstyle in 2015.
The difference between a chignon and a bun is that the chignon is folded into a sleek knot at the nape of your beck. You can always spice up a chignon by making it more intricate for more formal events but the basic chignon is perfect for everyday wear. And this year it’s totally vogue to. And the bigger – the better. Add a poof at the crown of your head to make the chignon even bigger.
