During the winter months it’s essential that you build up your arsenal up to battle the bitter cold, brutal wind and falling snow. This includes scarves, gloves, boots, a heavy coat and of course, a beanie. Beanies protect your ears from turning red, your hair from winter weather exposure and partners with scarves to keep your face and neck warm.
Unfortunately, they can be a little tricky to wear with hair. You can’t wear a high ponytail or spend a lot of time on polishing your hair because chances are, the beanie is going to undo all of that. But the good news is, there are plenty of cute and chic hairstyles to wear with beanies. Here are our favorites:
Vintage Curls and Side-Swept Bangs
Nobody wears beanies better than Taylor Swift. But we can certainly try to recreate her flawless looks. If you have the time – or the hot curlers – to create a few curls in the morning, then all you have to do is tuck your hair in the beanie and leave a few loose curls around your face. It’s stylish and practical! These bangs will look great with a low bun for an easy all-day look too.
Beanie with Side-Swept Braids
Braids are the perfect wintertime hair. The bitter cold has a way of creating knots and subsequently damage to our tresses. A braid keeps it tucked together and safe from these conditions. They also look tremendously adorable with a beanie. If you have bangs then make sure you leave them out of the beanie for a soft look. – And naturally Taylor Swift has been spotted wearing this look!
Low Chignon with Beanie
Tying your hair up is always a favorite hairstyle for busy ladies but when you throw a beanie over that topknot, it looks quite absurd. You can have the best of both worlds (beanies and easy updo’s) by keeping your hair in a low bun. You can keep the bun in the center but put it too the side for chic look.
Bohemian Waves with a Beanie
For a tousled and slightly undone look, pair your beanie with some beach waves. By simply letting your second-day hair go free, your natural boho waves hang loose or adding some sea salt spray to guarantee that you have lots of volume when you put your beanie on. If you have bangs, let them hang free, especially if they’re side-swept. But if you don’t have any bangs, a center part with the hat pushed back slightly off your forehead looks fabulous. Check out these easy ways to get boho waves.
